Tom Barrow’s motion stating that the original court ruling removing Mike Duggan’s name from the primary ballot also made him ineligible to run as a write in candidate has been dismissed. Judge Lita Popke ruled Monday, that Mike Duggan was eligible to run as a write-in candidate for Detroit’s mayoral race.
Sources report that Tom Barrow will not appeal the judges ruling. According to the candidacy requirements, a declaration of intent for a write-in campaign must be filed by July 26. Duggan’s declaration was filed by July 1.
