Romney’s VP Pick Causes Backlash

DENVER — The newly shaped Republican presidential ticket is fighting growing pains amid charges from President Barack Obama‘s re-election team that challenger Mitt Romney (pictured) favors his new running mate’s controversial plans to overhaul Medicare and cut trillions of dollars from social programs. RELATED: The Problem(s) With Romney’s VP Paul Ryan[1] The debate moves across five swing states as both campaigns operate at full strength for a second day. Romney will spend Tuesday in Ohio on the final day of his multistate bus tour, having dispatched his vice presidential pick, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, to court voters and donors in Colorado and Nevada. For all the advantages of having a running mate to share the workload, the Republicans are working through the challenge of planning double the events, coordinating messaging on the road, handling new security stresses and simply getting to know each other. All the while, Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are linking Romney to Ryan’s H ...

Evelyn Lozada Loses Her Beloved Brother-In-Law To Cancer

Fans of “Basketball Wives” may remember Evelyn Lozada talking to her sister, Sylvia, and her mother about the fact that her one worry was that her brother-in-law, Anthony Ochoa, who had been suffering through a long bout with cancer, would not live to walk her down the aisle when she married husband Chad Ochocinco Johnson.[1] RELATED:Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada Married![2] “During filming with my sister, my brother-in-law (Anthony) happened to text me and he was crying saying that he will be at my wedding if it’s the last thing he does. RNC To Michael Steele: We Do African-American Outreach By Supporting Romney

If you’re one those Black Americans who has asked yourself, “What has the Republican National Committee done for me lately?” look no further than their support of GOP presidential candidate, Mitt “Mittens” Romney, reports TalkingPointsMemo.com.[1] RELATED: It’s Official: Romney Taps Paul Ryan As His Running Mate [VIDEO][2] In response to former RNC chairperson Michael “Hip-Hop Hooray”[3] Steele’s criticism that they did nothing to encourage Black Americans to vote conservative, the organization pulled the Romney card: “The RNC has done very little since I left office to expand on the work that we had done in this area,” Steele said. “They’ve got a website, God bless them. It’s always good to put a website up with some black faces on it. Outreach.” Oh no he didn’t, said the RNC with a neck swivel. Well, no, they didn’t really say that; but RNC spokesperson Kirsten Kukowski’s come back was equally ridiculous: “We are reaching out to all Americans who know that the failed policies of the past ...

U.S. Men’s B-Ball Wins Gold Against Spain In 107-100 Win!

LONDON — This was no Dream Team. This was reality. The gold medal was in doubt for the U.S. men’s basketball team. The Americans led Spain by only one point after three quarters, a back-and-forth, impossible-to-turn-away-from game that almost anyone would hope for in an Olympic final. Especially, it turns out, the U.S. players. “We knew it wasn’t going to be easy. We didn’t want it easy,” LeBron James said. “A lot of teams have won gold easy. We didn’t want it that way. We’re a competitive team, and we love when it gets tight. That’s when our will and determination kind of shows. It was the same way in ’08.” Same result, too. The Americans defended their title Sunday by fighting off another huge challenge from Spain, pulling away in the final minutes for a 107-100 victory and their second straight Olympic championship. And just like 2008, the star-studded Americans had to work for this one. The London 2012 daily magazine proclaimed them “the new Dream Team” in an article, but the real Dream Te ...

With Mitt’s Tax Backlash, GOP Is Reaping What They Sow

Last year, when President Barack Obama held a press conference to announce that he had requested a copy of his birth certificate from the state of Hawaii to settle conspiracy theories that he was born to a virgin in the jungles of Kenya (or was it to an Islamic polygamist in the desert?), he explained that given the challenges the nation faces, now isn’t the time to be distracted by such utter silliness. As he put it,[1] we’ll never manage to rise to these challenges ”if we just make stuff up and pretend that facts are not facts. We’re not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by sideshows and carnival barkers.” SEE MORE:Dick Cheney: Obama ‘One of Our Weakest Presidents’[2] Mitt Romney (pictured) has the same opportunity to do this now with Sen.
