But what if you could bring your favorite super heroes to life? Now you can with the upcoming Marvel Universe LIVE! performance show coming to Detroit. We snagged Detroit’s own Khalil Pickett who plays Spider-Man from his web to Break For Five:
Michigan Chronicle: How does it feel performing in your hometown?
Kahlil Pickett: It feels amazing. Growing up I didn’t even think this is what I wanted to do. You never really imagine that this could happen. It’s my second year doing the tour and I always hoped that it would come to Detroit, I can’t wait.

MC: When was the last time you were in Detroit?
KP: It been awhile, I’m excited to see my friends and family. They are excited and I’m sure that they are going to make it a sold-out show. Since I live in Orlando and with the tour I don’t get back home often. I’m really looking forward to my mom’s home cooking.
MC: What advice can you give to someone looking to get into performance art like this?
KP: Be persistent, practice and never give up on your dream. You may go to auditions and get the role and sometimes you may not. But whether you do or you don’t it’s always an opportunity to improve. Stay dedicated, train every day, stay humble, always be willing to learn, always be yourself and work hard then Harder.
MC: What has been your favorite project to date?
KP: My favorite project to date is working with Mark E Swinton and Tyler Perry in a hip hop musical along with Marvel Universe LIVE!
MC: What can we expect at the upcoming Marvel Universe LIVE! Show?
KP: This show is amazing with over 25 marvel performers. Our very own hulk, special effects and don’t forget the girl power with Storm, Black Widow and more. Personally, I want the audience to receive the intensity, the determination and feeling I put into every stunt in my performance as well as the cast because we work hard and love what we do.
