ATLANTA — Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges is unarguably one of the most charitable and giving rappers in the history of the genre. The depth and breadth of his philanthropic endeavors marvels both his contemporaries and his admirers alike in the length he goes to give back to the community from which he emanates from.
The Ludacris Foundation kicked off the Labor Day weekend with the annaul LudaDay Weekend, an annual celebration Labor Day weekend where the accomplishments of Ludacris are recognized and community events with The Ludacris Foundation are held with celebrities as special guests.
LudaDay Weekend kicks off Thursday evening with a bowling event with several guest appearances including singer Chris Brown, actress Raven Simone, NBA player John Wall and LaLa Anthony. In support of his Ludacris Foundation, the mission of the events is to raise money for local community charities.
Last year, LudaDay raised more than $200,000.
An all-day block party and concert will be held Saturday at Clark Atlanta University. The popular celebrity basketball game will be held Sunday afternoon at Georgia State University’s Sport Arena.
Since 2005, LudaDay has brought out numerous celebrities from Justin Bieber, Kevin Durant, Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union and Vin Diesel.
