Dr. Ben Carson, one of the leading Republican presidential candidates, took on the question head-on on whether he is an “Uncle Tom” and a “traitor to his race” during a recent stop in Harlem.
Carson, the famed former surgeon at the equally renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, is the sole African American in a rather large GOP pool of presidential aspirants. This is what he had to say:
