Art, Soul & Sisterhood Shine at “Sisters Speak” Exhibit to Open at Detroit Public Library March 12

Bold colors, powerful storytelling, and the unbreakable bond of sisterhood come together in “Sisters Speak,” the latest art exhibition from Artistic Expressions Gallery, founded by Detroit natives and creative duo SuVon and Siana Treece. The opening reception will be held on Wednesday, March 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Detroit Public Library’s Main Branch Galleria at 5201 Woodward Avenue.

The Treece sisters have dedicated over a decade to transforming their shared passion for art into a creative force that celebrates personal expression and fosters community connections. Since its founding, the gallery has served as a creative hub and a platform for bringing the community together. Rooted in their mutual love for art, the gallery highlights their individual artistic styles while uniting them through vibrant and emotionally driven works.

Artistic Expressions Gallery stands as a testament to the power of art and sisterhood. Founded in 2008 by Detroit natives Siana Treece and SuVon Treece, this gallery has grown into more than just a space to showcase their work it’s become a platform for creative expression, community connection, and cultural storytelling.

Siana and SuVon share a lifelong passion for art, each bringing her own unique flair to the canvas. Their work is united by a dynamic use of bold, rich colors and a shared goal: to create art that evokes deep emotions while remaining visually captivating.

The Treece sisters skillfully create art in various mediums, ranging from traditional graphite sketches to vibrant acrylic paintings, digital illustrations, and large-scale murals. They employ a variety of materials, including charcoal, pastels, oil pastels, watercolor, markers, spray paint, and mixed media. Their creative versatility enables them to explore a wide array of styles, from abstract pieces to intimate portraits, all reflecting the spirit of Detroit.

Staying true to their Detroit roots, the sisters ensure that their success benefits the community. Each Artistic Expressions event donates a portion of its proceeds to local charities, including organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Detroit, Alternatives for Girls, The Rhonda Walker Foundation, and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

“While it’s great to have a successful event to make money for your organization, it’s even more rewarding to give back to the community in whatever way you can,” Siana said.

With over 15 years of experience in artistic entrepreneurship, Artistic Expressions Gallery continues to evolve by embracing new technologies, such as digital art, while remaining grounded in the timeless power of traditional mediums like paint and pencil.
