Memorial On Belle Isle to Honor Covid-19 Victims Is Open to Public

The Covid-19 Memorial on Belle Isle is open to the public from sunup until after sundown today, September 1 and tomorrow, September 2. Hundreds of cars have already entered the Island to see the more than 900 photos of Detroit residents lost to the pandemic.
The City of Detroit plans to gift the 4-by-4 foot billboards to their families noon to 6 p.m. Friday and is asking that the public not touch or remove the signs.
You can find coverage of Monday’s service featuring 15 funeral processions on the City of Detroit Government Facebook page and the City’s Youtube site.
