Ken Porter serves as President of Porter Media Group (PMG) in Detroit. PMG is a leading communications company that specializes in corporate print, conference marketing, and brand development. Last year PMG was nominated for the prestigious Supplier of the Year award by the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council and also featured in Forbes-Japan for their partnership with JPMorgan and the Entrepreneurs of Color Fund. One active assignment his company is engaged with is the new Gordie Howe International Bridge project.
Recently, Ken conducted a workshop at Tech Town with the first cohort of Black Tech Entrepreneurs from around the nation for the Advancing Black Pathways program presented by Chase. He provided training on how to properly position brands when pitching to investors.
As a social entrepreneur Ken believes in purpose and opportunity for young men. He is a member of the Campaign for Black Male Achievement and serves as a Skillman BMe Vanguard Fellow. Additionally, he serves on the board for the youth mentorship organization “Caught-Up” and newly founded a strategic black men and boy’s program called “A Few Black Men”.
