Daniel Wallace is a multifaceted professional with nearly 15 years of progressive experience in communications and human resources with several Fortune 50 companies. At General Motors, he is the Global Diversity Initiatives Lead, where he manages GM’s African American portfolio. He is responsible for driving the engagement strategy for diversity programming, defining philanthropic allocations within the African American community, building brand awareness through local and national programs, and serving as the company’s diversity subject matter expert.

Over the course of his career, Wallace has held several roles where he’s created thought-provoking stories around automotive innovation, intriguing personality profiles, and conversations around inclusion. He is also a former journalist, where he worked on multimedia business projects, including his own video column for a Gannett Newspaper in upstate New York.

Wallace, a Detroit native, earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Wayne State University where he received the university’s distinguished student journalist of the year award; and was an active member of WSU’s Journalism Institute for Media Diversity. Wallace is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration at the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
