The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences unveiled its list of New Members. Lou Ferrigno was honored to join other notable New Academy Member Stars, including the likes of Jon Hamm (“Baby Driver”), Viggo Mortensen (“Captain Fantastic,” “The Lord of the Rings”), Amy Poehler (“Inside Out,” “Sisters”), Chris Hemsworth (“Thor”, the series), and Bonnie Hunt (“Jerry Maguire”), just to mention a few!

Lou’s most recent movies include, “Instant Death” and “Enter the Fire” with “Ring Ring” and “Purge of Thrones”, in post-production, are expected to be released soon. Highlights over the last three years include Lou’s 2016 work which was filled with both humor and diversity. He starred as Willy opposite Catherine Bell, Judd Nelson and Paul Sorvino in the comedic motion picture, “The Bandit Hound”, and in 2015 voiced the Hulk in the blockbuster movie “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. In 2014, Lou appeared in “Moms Night Out” and in 2012, Lou shot multiple projects, including, most notably, the action-packed thriller, “Liberator”.

In 2013 Lou and his son, Louie Jr. launched Ferrigno Legacy, a World Class Bodybuilding Competition and Expo, held in beautiful Palm Springs, California. With over 400 Contestants from across the world, it is now entering its fourth year of success. That same year, Lou and his daughter, Shanna launched Ferrigno Fit, a lifestyle brand that celebrates positive, healthy living by combining behavioral science, education, and entertainment with the fundamentals of health & fitness to build personalized transformation programs aimed at helping individuals achieve their fitness goals.

Shortly before that Lou also appeared in, and did the voice of The Hulk, in Superhero blockbuster feature films, “The Incredible Hulk”, directed by Louis Leterrier, with a cast that included Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, William Hurt, and Robert Downey Jr. That was, of course, the squeal to the blockbuster hit feature film “Hulk”, directed by Ang Lee where Lou, at the request of the filmmakers, made an honorary Cameo Appearance. Along with Stan Lee, he is one of only two actors to appear in both “Hulk” and “The Incredible Hulk”. He also provides the voice for the UPN animated series “The Incredible Hulk”, with a cast that includes Peter Strauss, Mark Hamill, Kathy Ireland, and Richard Moll.
