UNIFIED-HIV Health and Beyond (UHHB) will celebrate its 24th annual Dining for Dollars event on Wednesday,May 15 at 6 p.m.
The mission of UHHB is rooted in the history of their fight against HIV. The organization advocates for individuals living with the disease, advances prevention, participates in community research and provides access to health care.
In a 2018 review of HIV trends conducted by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, it was founded that an estimated 18,650 people are living with HIV in Michigan as of July 2018. The overall rates of new diagnoses
of the disease in the state are slightly increasing.
By providing preventative tools and encouraging the raising of funds to support the organization’s overall goals of combating the epidemic, Dining for Dollars contributes to changing the narrative of the HIV community.
During the evening’s festivities, guests will hear testimonies that speak to the value of the services UHHB provides and indulge in lively entertainment, including sounds from the Jesse Kramer Trio Band. There will also be an auction featuring approximately 100 items, including a one-night stay with breakfast for two at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti, tickets to the University of Michigan vs. Michigan State University football game, a Detroit Lions fan package with an autographed photo, fine wines, jewelry, gift cards and more. To seal the deal on a fulfilling evening, attendees will also indulge in a decadent menu prepared by the Ann Arbor City Club.
The Dining for Dollars fundraiser will be held at the Ann Arbor City Club, located at 1830 Washtenaw Avenue in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Please visit https://miunified.networkforgood.com/ for more details and to purchase tickets.
