Shawn Fair partners with Emagine Theatre for leadership event

When Metro Detroit resident Shawn Fair heard that Detroit was turned down by Amazon for a second headquarters because of a lack of talent, Fair decided to do something.
Fair, who is an international speaker who focuses on leadership training, decided to partner with Emagine Theatre of Royal Oak to host a leadership conference May 8 from 9 am to 1 pm.
“I saw a need and I decided to see what I could offer to make a difference,” Fair said. “There are not enough leadership programs available across the county. Whether you’re an employee, self-employed, manager, or in middle management, this training will help you be more valuable in your job and if you’re more valuable, you will be happier.”
The event will feature as keynote, Fair, who has helped companies all across the country train and educate their employees to be strong leaders in their jobs, and has helped business owners grow their businesses . Also speaking that day will be Katie Balash, who was recently named one of Crain’s Detroit 2018 Notable Women in Manufacturing and who is the owner of Vaughan Industries , Cam Anthony, a pop star who at the age of nine, first made an appearance on America’s Got Talent and who has performed twice at the White House for President Barak Obama, and who recently won Live at the Apollo,  and Joy D Calloway, president and CEO of New Center Community Services.
The event, which costs $50, will begin at 9 am and will last till 1 pm. Immediately following for an additional $22 attendees can take part in an after-party networking event where they can meet Fair and the other speaks, enjoy lunch, and take pictures with Fair and the other speakers in front of a backdrop. This portion of the event is limited to 80 people and will be held in the High Rollers Room of the theatre. Tickets for the after-party networking event must be purchased by April 29.
“I feel in my heart that everyday workers are not happy with their work environment due to a lack of leadership,” Fair said.  “This event will teach attendees to be more effective in their jobs and to be stronger leaders at work.”

Fair is the CEO of the Fair Consulting Group, and U.S. based speaking and training firm. Before he started Fair Consulting, he worked in both small and larger corporations in positions from customer service to vice president of sales and marketing as well as being a national executive trainer.  Fair is also a member of the Forbes Coaching Council and a consultant to corporations. He has trained other trainers, sales professionals, managers, senior leadership officials, and executives in 43 of the 50 United States, including the Virgin Islands.
